the leading lady. the vivacious voice. teacher--and eternal student--of music. 

she is behind the keys to the band. she holds the keys to the heart of The People...yes indeed, it's ZiZi!

ain't gonna find a bandmate like her too easy, yall. smart. conscientious. incredibly prepared. proficient with her instrument. on time for practice.

trust me, you're usually lucky to get 2 of those in a bandmate...turns out those are also quality ingredients to an outstanding comrade.

folx speculate about the exact nature of our connection offstage...but yaknow, I don't really think providing a neat little framing for the public record is all that important.

what I do want you to understand about ZiZi is that she is one of the best people that you will be fortunate enough to meet in your life, should you be so lucky.

she is a model friend.

she is a worthy human being trapped in a system unworthy of her humanity. 

me, I'm more...let's call it "pragmatic"...but I kinda aspire to be more like her.

she has a good fuckin' heart, more human beings in her mold would make the world a better place.

the place it could have always been, the world I want.

...and so some of my anger boils on her behalf. for beautiful people like her. 

for the kids she helps, for the future she was promised back when she was their age.

like, the harsh realities of this world have made me into a man that is willing and able to cut a mf with my favorite bracelet, but she'll try everything she can to get me to write something silly instead. she will typically succeed. HOW??

I may be proudly manning the gas pedal on this vehicle, but the brakes serve an equally important function. it's ZiZi!

standing by my side through hell or high water--yes that was on purpose--she has proven just as central to the Uprising...after all, Pleasant is our first name, yeah?
